Preparation Steps
  1. Slice about 1/2 inch off the top of the sweet onion, keeping the root intact. Make vertical cuts from the top down, about 1/4 inch apart, stopping 1/2 inch from the root.

  3. Roll the blooming onion in the seasoned flour, dip in egg wash, and coat again in seasoned flour.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the coated onion in the air fryer basket and spray generously with oil. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, checking halfway through.
