  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted pistachios roughly chopped
  • 1 cup whole milk or almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon rose water use sparingly
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder ensure freshness
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8-inch round baking pan by greasing it with butter and lining the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 tablespoon of baking powder until fully combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat together ½ cup of melted unsalted butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add in 3 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition to create a smooth batter.
  5. Gently stir in 1 cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of rose water into the batter.
  6. Fold in 1 cup of roughly chopped unsalted pistachios.
  7. Pour the carefully mixed batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with icing before serving.
