Ingredients

For the Base
  • 1 ripe banana Adds natural sweetness and potassium; use a perfectly ripe banana for optimal flavor.
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt Provides a creamy base rich in probiotics and calcium; ensure it's xylitol-free for your pup's safety.
For the Flavor Boost
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter Enhances flavor and healthy fats; choose natural, unsweetened peanut butter without xylitol.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • fork
  • silicone molds or ice cube tray
  • spatula

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by peeling your ripe banana and placing it in a small mixing bowl. Using a fork, thoroughly mash the banana until it's smooth and creamy, with no large lumps remaining.
  2. Next, add 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt to the mashed banana in the mixing bowl. Stir the mixture vigorously using the fork until it’s completely blended and has a uniform consistency.
  3. If you’re using peanut butter for an extra flavor boost, add 1 tablespoon of natural, unsweetened peanut butter to the mixture. Gently fold it into the banana and yogurt blend until fully incorporated.
  4. Grab silicone molds or an ice cube tray, and carefully spoon the mixture into each cavity. Use a small spatula or the back of a spoon to ensure the mixture is evenly distributed and packed down slightly.
  5. Place the filled molds in the freezer and let them freeze for 2–3 hours or until the treats are completely solid.
  6. Once frozen, remove the molds from the freezer. Carefully pop out the individual Frozen Yogurt Banana Dog Treats by gently pulling on the edges of the silicone molds.
