Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt ½ cup of butter in a mixing bowl, then stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until combined. Add 2 egg yolks and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, blending until smooth.
  3. Add a few drops of green gel food coloring to the butter mixture and stir until the desired shade is reached.
  4. Gradually mix in 2.75 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of salt until just combined.
  5. Roll the dough into approximately 12 balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and coat them in granulated sugar.
  6. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart, and bake for 10 to 11 minutes.
