  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for 7-10 minutes, seasoning with garlic salt. Drain excess fat.
  3. Combine uncooked long grain white rice, browned beef, beef consume, French onion soup, and water in the baking dish.
  4. Slice butter into thin pieces and distribute over the mixture.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let sit for a few minutes and fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
