Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Persian Chicken
  1. Season the chicken thighs with turmeric, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Sauté onions for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  4. Add marinated chicken thighs to the skillet and brown on each side for 6-8 minutes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth or water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  6. Stir in dried apricots and slivered almonds or walnuts.
