For the Garlic Bread
  • 1 loaf Italian Bread fresh and crusty
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter softened, use vegan butter for dairy-free option
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder optional, use sparingly
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper freshly ground

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring 4 quarts of water to a boil in a large pot, add salt, and cook spaghetti according to package instructions for 8-10 minutes until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-low, sauté minced garlic and red pepper flakes for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add drained spaghetti to the skillet, toss to coat with garlic, gradually pour in reserved pasta water until desired sauce consistency is reached.
  4. Stir in parsley and Parmesan cheese until melted. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth for the garlic bread spread.
  6. Slice Italian bread lengthwise, spread garlic mixture on each half, and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake garlic bread for 10-12 minutes until golden.
  8. Slice garlic bread into pieces and serve with spaghetti, garnished with additional Parmesan and parsley.
